The stuff on this page is a collection of snippets of ideas that guide my life but I have not yet managed to turn into a full page article. As Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates”, and these are my unsorted random chocolates.
- How you show up in one aspect of your life is almost always a good indicator of how you will show up in other aspects of your life.
- Why do “OR” when you could do “AND” – flip the narrative! Is there some way you can have your cake AND eat it too?!
- Take care of yourself first before you try to take care of others – you cannot pour tea from an empty kettle – Zen metaphor
- The antidote to overthinking is to trust yourself harder
- Try changing your environment to suit your self before changing your self to suit the environment
- The Wiccan Rede “An ye harm none, do what ye will” – a lovely balance of self-agency vs social responsibility, but it also requires the ability to see the bigger picture beyond one’s self
- Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. – Eleanor Roosevelt? Socrates?
- Moderation in all things – excess usually leads to bad things happening
- Accumulate small advantages – they will add up and snowball in the long run
